A6. Description of the modelling scenarios
A number of areas and phenomena were relevant to modelling within HYPER. These include:
- High and pressure releases;
- Foreseeable and catastrophic releases;
- Explosive atmospheres both inside and outside equipment casing;
- Explosive atmospheres inside a room or building;
- Quiescent or turbulent explosive atmospheres;
- Early and late ignition;
- Explosion or jet fire;
- Mitigated and non-mitigated scenarios.
A final list of the scenarios determined in WP1 is given in Table 1.
Scenario | Title |
A | High pressure releases - safety distances |
B | Small foreseeable releases - safety concept |
C | Catastrophic failure of the system - internal primary ignition |
D | Catastrophic failure of the system - external primary ignition |
E | Effects of barriers and walls |
F | Leak detection. Sensor and control |
