5.2.2 Step 2 - EU Directives

For residential installations there is no legal requirement to use ATEX compliant equipment as the ATEX Directives only apply to the workplace.  Pressure equipment will still need to comply with the requirements of PED and electrical equipment with LVD and ECM.  It is also recommended that gas safety, regulating and controlling devices meet the requirements of GAD.  For further information on these Directives see section 5.1.2.
